A solar company that leads with arithmetic
Divine Energy Group designs and installs solar and battery systems across Los Angeles from a shop in Northridge. We are not a sales floor with a subcontractor list. The people who model your system are the people who put it on your roof.
Why we exist
The industry earned its reputation
Residential solar in California has a trust problem, and it was not handed to it unfairly. For a decade the business ran on high-pressure in-home closes, financing terms nobody read, production estimates nobody checked, and companies that folded before the twenty-five year warranty they sold had reached year five.
Then the rules changed twice. NEM 3.0 gutted the value of exported power in 2023. The federal residential tax credit expired at the end of 2025. Both changes made the difference between a well-designed system and a badly designed one much larger — and made the salesperson who is still reading from a 2021 script much more expensive to believe.
We built this company around a simple premise: show the customer the arithmetic, then let the arithmetic do the selling. It works often enough, and when it does not, that is usually the correct outcome.
How we operate
Six rules we don’t bend
The bill comes before the pitch
We ask for twelve months of usage before we say a single number. A satellite image and a square-footage guess can produce a proposal, but not an accurate one, and the difference shows up on your first true-up.
Smallest system that does the job
Under NEM 3.0 an oversized array exports power for pennies. We would rather sell you 6 kW that pays back in seven years than 10 kW that pays back in fourteen and looks more impressive on the roof.
Your utility drives the design
SCE, LADWP, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Azusa, and Anaheim all have different export rules, rebate eligibility, and interconnection queues. A design that ignores which one bills you is a guess.
Hidden costs get surfaced early
Panel upgrades, roof condition, structural review, HOA architectural submittals. If your project needs them, they are in the written proposal — not in a change order after the crew is on site.
We will tell you not to buy
If your roof has three years left, replace it first. If your rate schedule makes the return weak, we will say so. Talking someone out of a bad project costs us one sale and saves us five service calls.
We service what we didn't sell
A lot of Southern California solar was installed by companies that no longer exist. Those homeowners have nowhere to call. We take those jobs, including the warranty paperwork.
Where we work
Fifty miles, seven utilities
Northridge sits close to the geographic center of the Los Angeles basin, which is why we can cover Palmdale and Long Beach, Camarillo and Anaheim, out of one shop. That radius spans 110 cities and seven electric utilities, each with its own rate structure, rebate eligibility, and permitting office.
Knowing which plan-check reviewer wants what, and which interconnection queue runs long, is not glamorous knowledge. It is most of the difference between a six-week project and a sixteen-week one.
Get in touch
The fastest way to a real answer is to send us one recent electric bill. Everything else we can work out from there.
